recommendations for the best place to stay in Fiji

  1. We just spent a week at the radisson blu in a 1 bedroom suite…was fantastic! The suite splits in 2 so could put our daughter to bed and still have lights on etc. Pool was great except the water was cold. Had a full kitchen and also a washing machine/dryer. Ask for a ground floor room or a room near the lift, otherwise its up and down stairs all the time.
Last year stayes at the sofitel…facilities were awesome but the room wasnt as good as the radisson blu…we has a family room there which you couldnt separate and had to walk past the kids bit to get to the bathroom and no kitchen or washing machine. Not sure what the 1 bedroom suites are like there to compare.

  2. We stayed at naviti resort last year for our honeymoon and it was so family friendly.. We saw young families everywhere plus they have a kids club as well as heaps of family activities each day. We decided when we were there that we would return with our baby

  3. Westin is great but Sheraton apartments next door may suit your needs better if you need microwave etc. Can use facilities of Westin and Sheraton properties and charge back to your rooms from each.

  4. We stayed at Outrigger and thought we were in heaven and then we went to Castaway island to get married and realised we had waisted put time at outrigger. Castaway is all white beaches, modern huts right up to the water. You roll out of Bed and have a dip. They have a top chef and the food is exceptional. They also had a crèche and you could hire nannies. The wedding was planned for us with a boat tour around the islands afterward. It was really beautiful and something I wont forget. Sorry to say but Outrigger is like any other resort at home, you don’t need to travel to Fiji for that experience, while Castaway is the Fiji you see on the brochures. I hope that helps, good luck with your wedding:)

  5. The Sheraton at Denarau was a very easy option: all flat walkways for strollering (unlike the Radisson Blu), great brekkie buffet, pool very accommodating to kiddies, etc. Plus it’s only a very short ride from the airport after a long flight.

  6. The Hilton at Denarau is lovely. You can get a room with a kitchenette (microwave, toaster, stove etc) and dining table. Babysitting (kids younger than 4 can’t go to the kids’ club without a carer) is about $8 Fijian. Have a great time!
